Bethany Li, Asian American Studies

 

Bethany Y. Li is a Staff Attorney at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF). Ms. Li supports the organizing efforts of tenants, low-wage workers, and undocumented immigrants. She is actively involved on immigrant rights issues, including organizing deferred action legal clinics for undocumented youth and working with AALDEF’s undocumented Asian American youth group organizing for a more just immigration system. She has also litigated several land use and immigrant worker labor cases, documented the growing trends of gentrification in Chinatowns along the East Coast, and worked on a wide range of housing and environmental justice issues. Ms. Li was formerly an Equal Justice Works Fellow. Her previous experiences include organizing tenants and lobbying against unfair funding restrictions on legal services. Ms. Li received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from Amherst College.
