Elizabeth Raleigh, Asian American Studies

Liz Raleigh

Dr. Elizabeth Raleigh is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Asian American Studies Program. She teaches courses in Asian American education, Asian adoption and Asians in America.  

Raleigh received her PhD in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Brown University in American Civilization. Her research interests include immigrant families and adoptive families. Currently she is working on a project that examines transracial adoption through a market lens and as a window into racial and ethnic boundaries.

She is the recipient of numerous grants that have helped to support her research, including the J. William Fulbright Fellowship to Korea (2001) and she was recently named an American Association of University Women American Fellow (2010).
