Dr. Sonjia Hyon is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Asian American Studies Program. She completed her Ph.D. in American Studies at the University of Minnestota, Twin Cities, and received her B.A. in ethnic studies and communications at Mills College in Oakland, CA, and. Her research interests include: Asian American film and literature, American popular cultures, and critical race theory. She is also the former festival director of the Asian American International Film Festival in New York.
