Asian American International Film Festival 2012 Summer Internships

Asian CineVision (ACV) is having the 35th Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) and now accepting applications for summer 2012 internships. Film Festival Interns will assist in the production, promotion, and coordination of all aspects of the AIFFF, opening July 25, 2012.

ABOUT ACV:
Asian CineVision is a nonprofit media arts organization devoted to the development, promotion, preservation, and exhibition of Asian and Asian American film and video. Since 1978, ACV has produced the Asian American Internation Film Festival, the nations longest running festival of its kind and the premier showcase for the best in independent Asian and Asian American cinema.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous work experience in professional environment
- Writing skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Self starter with ability to manage multiple projects
- In most instances, must be a minimum of 21 years of age by July 2012

Interns are expected to commit 2-3 days/week, late May through mid August, including full time and some weekends for the length of the festival, July 23rd to August 5th

Offered internships include:

DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
- Assist Festival Director with procurement of sponsorships
- Drafting grant proposals
- Membership outreach
- Creative strategizing for grassroots fundraising campaign

DESIGN/WEB ASSISTANT
- Design collateral marketing materials for festival
- Ensure consistent, qualoty branding in all aspects of design
- Help manage and regularly update the ACV and Festival sites
- Work closely with Festival staff on various levels of production
*Candidate must have experience in graphic design, interactive, or web design

SPECIAL EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
- Coordinate, plan, and on site manage festival special events and after parties with Festival Director
- Strategize, coordinate, and lead festival volunteer program with assitance from lead volunteers

SOCIAL MEDIA AND WEB COORDINATOR
- Assist with internet based public relations and promotion for the AAIFF
*Candidate should have familiarity with social media platforms and willingness to learn about APA online media outlets

OUTREACH COORDINATOR
- Maintain or establish relationships with various community organizations, universities, schools, and clubs for special/promotional events and co hosting screenings
*Candidate should have an interest in the Asian American community and grassroots organizing

BOX OFFICE COORDINATOR
- Coordinate and assist with all aspects of ticket sales
- Prior experience in project coordination, special events, or sales preferred
