Subway Directions

Take the A, C, or E train to the 42nd Street stop. Walk one block south down 8th Avenue to 41st Street. Turn right on 41st Street and walk 2 and a half blocks. The MFA Building will be on your left.

Bus Directions

The M11 bus runs north on 10th Avenue and south on 9th Avenue. In addition, the M16 bus runs south on 9th Avenue between 43rd Street and 34th Street. The MFA Building is located on 41st Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.

Driving Directions from Queens / Long Island

Take the Long Island Expressway west to the Queens Midtown Tunnel. Make a right onto 3rd Avenue. Drive north to 42nd Street and make a left. Drive crosstown to 9th Avenue. Make a left onto 9th Avenue. Drive 1 block south and make a right onto 41st Street. The MFA Building will be on your left.

Driving Directions from Bronx / Westchester

Take the Cross Bronx Expressway to the Henry Hudson Parkway. Continue on 9A South to 42nd Street. Turn left onto 42nd Street. Drive 3 blocks east, then make a right onto 9th Avenue. Drive 1 block south and make a right onto 41st Street. The MFA Building will be on your left.

Driving Directions from New Jersey via the Lincoln Tunnel

Take the Lincoln Tunnel. Take the exit toward Dyer Avenue going north. (Follow the road to your left.) Continue driving north to 41st Street. Turn left onto 41st Street and the MFA Building will be on your left. 

Driving Directions from New Jersey via the George Washington Bridge

Take the George Washington Bridge to the Henry Hudson Parkway going south. Continue on 9A South to 42nd Street. Turn left onto 42nd Street. Drive 3 blocks east, then make a right onto 9th Avenue. Drive 1 block south and make a right onto 41st Street. The MFA Building will be on your left.
