Each semester the Department of Mathematics and Statistics conducts assessment in each of its gateway courses. The assessment data directly impacts how each course is taught, with regular modifications. This presentation will demonstrate how ongoing departmental assessment has led to concrete improvement in these gateway courses that provide students access to their majors—and how it can be used to improve a wide range of other courses.
