Career Development Services

The mission of the office of Career Development Services is to provide all Hunter students and alumni access to the services and best available resources that will assist them in discovering the career that will provide optimum personal satisfaction.

Through an interactive process in individual and group counseling sessions, career counselors assist students in the exploration and evaluation of education, training, work history, interests, skills, and personal traits. Counselors help students recognize underlying factors that may impede progress toward decision-making. The office works collaboratively with faculty to integrate classroom learning with experiential learning through internships and jobs.

The Office of AccessABILITY enhances the educational experience for people with temporary or permanent disabilities.

The Office of Accessibility performs a review of its students’ Academic Risk Report provided by the ICIT, and uses this information to further advice, counsel and accommodate students to enhance their academic standing.

The transcripts of those students on academic risk or probation were reviewed. Based on the data gathered from Access and Technology center’s attendance records, a list of students that utilized services during 2010-2011 and belonged to those categories was created.  The number of students who utilized the Access and Technology center’s resources and services and improved their academic standing is determined.
