Nicolette Treglia, Nursing Scholar, Class of 2018

Tell us about yourself:

I'm from Staten Island, New York and attended Saint Joseph Hill Academy before becoming a Hunter student. I realized my calling was to become a nurse while volunteering in a hospital on Staten Island. It was truly inspiring to see what a difference these men and women could make in their patient’s lives and I hope to one day do the same. It was such an honor to become a nursing scholar, which has allowed for me to study my passion in the greatest city in the world.

How has your scholarship helped you?

My scholarship has allowed me admission to Hunter’s amazing nursing program while allowing me to save money that I will one day use to attend graduate school. Also being a nursing scholar has given me direct access to advisors and professors who have helped me in my pursuits. I have had the opportunities to visit the Bellevue School of Nursing/NYU College of Nursing simulation labs and the Morgan Library to gain greater insight into my future profession and talk to truly inspirational nurses who have motivated me to further my education, specifically to become a nurse anesthetist.
