Brittany Greve, Daedalus Scholar, Class of 2020

Tell us about yourself:

I was born in raised in Astoria, New York by two parents who were very involved in the technology world. For high school I was lucky enough to get into The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria, where I was exposed to Computer Science and how women are desperately needed in the field.

How has your scholarship helped you?

Once I made my decision to attend Hunter College, I was looking to find a smaller group of peers that I could rely on, and I was lucky enough to be accepted into Hunter’s first year of Computer Science Honor Scholars. Throughout my first semester, I was always surrounded by my cohort and could lean on them for help with anything I ever needed, they essentially became my sisters and brothers. Besides CS Honor Cohort, I am in the Zeta Phi Alpha sorority, I write for the Odyssey Online, and I created the Spoon University club, which I am currently the Editorial Director of. My cohort has helped me realize that I am most interested in finding the intersection of Computer Science/Mathematics, and helping groups of people/interacting with people.
