Undergraduate Admission Reconsideration Requests

Freshman and Transfer Admission Reconsideration Requests are closed for the Fall 2019 semester.

In order to be reconsidered for admission, you must have satisfied the College's English and Math requirements at the time of your request.

You may submit an Admission Reconsideration Request if you are a:

  • Freshman or Transfer applicant who has been denied admission to Hunter College for the current semester.
  • former Hunter College student who was denied Readmission for the current semester.
  • Freshman or Transfer applicant who did not list Hunter College as a school choice on your CUNY Admission Application.

If you have been waitlisted, please do not submit an Admission Consideration Request.


If you were denied admission or readmission to Hunter, your request will only be considered for one of the following reasons:

  • Processing or personal error with the application or supporting documentation
  • Submissions of significant new information (updated transcript, test scores, grade changes, etc.)
  • Personal hardship, or extraordinary circumstance

Prior to submitting your request, please review the latest Admission Profile for Hunter College available on CUNY's website. All grades, test scores and/or courses you would like to have considered for admission must be complete at the time of your Reconsideration Request. Pending grades, test scores or courses in-progress will not be considered. Additionally, you must have satisfied CUNY's English and Math requirements at the time of your request.

Please check your email regularly as we may contact you with a request for more information and/or documentation supporting your reason for reconsideration. Reconsideration decisions are typically sent via email 3-4 weeks from the date of submission.
