ART IN TIMES SQUARE
"Abstraction and Immanence," a show of contemporary art at the Hunter College/Times Square Gallery, is described as a "worthy exhibition" in a review by The New York Times.

GOOD VIBES FROM THE KAYE PLAYHOUSE
The United States debut of Portuguese fado singer Cristina Branco receives an upbeat review in The New York Times, which called her voice "high and supple."  She is also reviewed favorably in Brooklyn's Bay News.

A profile in The New York Times on the James Sewell Ballet refers to the company's upcoming performance.  In a subsequent review, the Times called the company's performance "nothing but a triumph."

The New York Times's "Family Fare" column features a story about the Paper Bag Players' show, "Fortunately"; the children's theater group is in its 43rd year.

"Songbook for a New Century" features the world premieres of 18 new "art songs"—diverse texts by such writers as Lucille Clifton and Stephen King, put to music by Ned Rorem, Ricky Ian Gordon and other composers.  The concert is reviewed by Newsday and The New York Times.
