Scholarship & Welfare Fund
The Scholarship & Welfare Fund of the Alumni Association of Hunter
College Inc., a not-for-profit group established in 1949, administers
a number of funds to provide scholarships to students who otherwise
might not be able to complete their education.
The Scholarship
and Welfare Fund furnishes student support in the
following ways:
- Undergraduate
Scholarship: awards for well-qualified and needy
students.
- Hunter
Scholars Program: provides full tuition for four years to
attract highly qualified high school students to attend Hunter
- Dormitory
Grants: funding for a room in the Hunter Dormitory for
four years to selected members of the Hunter Scholars Program
- Graduate
Awards Program: offered to graduating seniors to assist
them in their first year of graduate studies
For over 50 years, the Scholarship and Welfare Fund has contributed
substantially to the education of Hunter College students. Contributions,
of any amount, from Alumni, friends, chapters and classes have
provided the funds needed for this support.
