Laëtitia Atlani-Duault

Anthropology of Humanitarian Aid

Prof. Laëtitia Atlani-Duault is a Research Professor (Directeur de Recherche) in Social Anthropology at UMR 912 (IRD/INSERM/AMU), and Visiting Professor at Hunter/CUNY, Anthropology Dept., and at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.
She is also a member of the CNRS Centre for Ethnology and Comparative Sociology (LESC), teaches at the Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales (EHESS) and Paris 1 Sorbonne, and is co-director of a book series, Le (bien) commun', at the Edition de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris.
Her research focus is the critical anthropolgy of humanitarian aid.
She is the author of numerous articles in international journals (The Lancet; Cuture, Medicine and Psychiatry; Ethnologie Francaise; Social Sciences and Medicine; Transcultural Psychiatry; Public Understanding of Science; The Lancet Infectious Diseases; Tiers Monde; Autrepart; etc.) as well as books and journal special issues, such as Au bonheur des autres. Anthropologie de l'aide humanitaire (For Their Own Good. Laetitia Atlani-Duault is the recipeint of the prestigous Excellence in Research Award in Social Anthropology awarded by France's National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).
