Hunter Anthropology 101 Students Win Public Anthropology Awards for Excellence in Writing

Nine students in Professor Marc Edelman’s Introduction to Cultural Anthropology course won Public Anthropology Awards for Excellence in Writing on Public Issues from the Community Action Website based at the University of Hawaii.

The students wrote letters about climate change that attempted to communicate to an audience with different views. The letters were evaluated by juries composed of students at the other twelve U.S. and Canadian universities that participated in this round of the competition. The Hunter students also evaluated letters written by their peers at the other participating institutions.

The letters may be viewed here https://www.publicanthropology.org/CAW/18-FALL/2-ME-Hunter.htm
