Students will acquire a familiarity with the subfield of anthropology concerned with past human societies and cultural diversity.  This includes familiarity with archaeological theory, methods, and techniques; as well as the material record of past human cultures and their environments.

An Anthropological Archaeology Minor will provide Hunter College students with a short introduction to humans and our cultural history.  Archaeology is a synthetic field that both draws on and complements other majors, particularly the social sciences and historical sciences, especially anthropology, history, sociology, geography, and geology.  An Anthropological Archaeology Minor will offer students a short program that will act as a significant complement to these major programs.
