Pierre Huyghe Symposium

March 8, 2014, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

A compressed history of Pierre Huyghe will unfold as a series of case studies presented by his interlocutors, each of whom have developed thinking around particular works. It will be held at The Artist's Institute, whose diminutive scale will allow for a more intimate exchange of ideas than is usually possible in this format. Seating is first-come, first-served for the public. Hunter students who are interested in attending should e-mail curator Jenny Jaskey, jenny@theartistsinstitute.org.

11:00 AM

Session One: Tom McDonough (Snow White Lucie, The Third Memory, No Ghost Just a Shell); Julieta Aranda (Mobile and The Castle of Turing); Sinziana Ravini (The Host and the Cloud); Discussion moderated by Alex Kitnick.

2:30 PM

Session Two: Liam Gillick (The Association of Freed Time); Lynne Cooke (Streamside Day); Dorothea von Hantelmann (UntilledI); Discussion moderated by Jenny Jaskey.
