Emmanuel von Schack lectured at a workshop in December about interpreting in the art history field (museum interpreting, classroom interpreting, lexicon issues) relating to American Sign Language. At present there is a severe lack of art lexicon in ASL, so he and a colleague are working on a project to create an art lexicon in ASL and videotape it so that it can be viewed by audiences nationally and perhaps internationally.
