Professor Kelly Anderson wins the Audience Award at the 2012 Brooklyn Film Festival

Professor Kelly Anderson (Film and Media Studies) won the Audience Award at the 2012 Brooklyn Film Festival. Her documentary, My Brooklyn, focuses on the policies and politics reshaping the Fulton Mall, one of the most successful and most maligned shopping destinations in New York City. The film chronicles how city government and corporate interests joined forces to remake Downtown Brooklyn, displacing small businesses and long-time residents, and investigates the historical roots of this contemporary urban makeover.

My Brooklyn is a collaboration between Anderson and Hunter graduate Allison Lirish Dean (MA, Urban Planning). The award is shared with Princeton Professor Su Friedrich for her documentary Gut Renovation.
