'The Cinema of Roland Barthes' Receives Enthusiastic Reviews in France

Professor Sam Di Iorio, Chair of the Romance Languages Department, collaborated with colleagues from Yale, Columbia, and the University of Grenoble on the French edition of Phillip Watts' posthumous Le Cinéma de Roland Barthes, which was recently featured on fabulahttp://www.fabula.org , the premiere French-language academic website for literary studies. The book was also warmly reviewed on France Culture (the French equivalent of NPR), with special mention given to the editorial team's work: http://www.franceculture.fr/emission-la-dispute-cinema-sangue-del-mio-sangue-fatima-2015-10-06 .    In addition, the book will be presented at two separate events in Paris-- one at Centre Georges Pompidou; the other at the art theatre le Champo, where it is part of a Barthes cycle. The US edition of the book is scheduled for release in Spring 2016; a conference will be held at Columbia University to mark the release.
