New York, NY – The Hunter College is going “Back to the Future” by honoring Hawk greats from the past and present at this year’s Homecoming Celebration which begins on Friday, December 7 with a full day of action for all to enjoy, including six Hunter teams in action and various activities for Alumni, Faculty, Staff and fans to take part in throughout the day.
The celebration will begin with a wrestling match against NYU at 3:30 p.m. in the B3 Gymnasium. This will then be followed by the first ever Alumni “Fun Challenge” at 5:00 p.m. which will feature various activities that all can participate in and enjoy. The “Alumni Challenge” will take place in the B4 Gymnasium.
At 5:30 p.m., the women’s basketball team will face CUNY Athletic Conference opponent John Jay College in the B3 Gymnasium. The men’s and women’s fencing teams will also be in action squaring off against Stony Brook at 6:00 p.m. in the Fencing Room located on the B3 level of the Hunter Sportsplex. Meanwhile, at the Brookdale campus located at 25th Street & 1st Ave., the women’s swimming team will compete against the College of Staten Island also at 6:00 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m., the second part of the Alumni “Fun Challenge” will begin in the B4 Gymnasium, while at 7:30 p.m. the Annual Alumni/Faculty & Staff Basketball Game will be played in the B3 Gymnasium.
The day will then conclude with a men’s basketball game against John Jay College at 8:20 p.m. At halftime of both the men’s and women’s games, Hunter Athletics will pay tribute to the Hawk greats in attendance from years past and honor the stars of today.
