Behavioral Response Team Protocol

The BRT has developed a protocol to ensure that concerns regarding student behavior are addressed and managed appropriately and effectively using the college’s support services.

Upon receipt of a BRT referral, the Team will determine the appropriate course of action. The course of action, or response, will be based on a thorough risk assessment and may include contact with the referral source for additional information. Actions taken by the BRT may include any of the following:

• In non-urgent but still noteworthy circumstances, a BRT record will be generated
• A student may be called in to discuss the concern
• The BRT may refer the case for any of the following:
• Counseling Services
• Office of AccessABILITY
• Other college-based supportive services
• Disciplinary intervention
