Financial Aid Check Distribution

Financial Aid check disbursements occur for the following types of Financial Aid:

Pell
SEOG
College Work Study
Perkins and Direct Loans
SEEK Stipends
Vallone Scholarships

All checks are mailed to students except those that are direct deposited into a student's account. All checks on 'HOLD' must be picked up, in person, at the Bursar's Office (N238.)

If there is an issue with your Federal financial aid due to your enrollment status, please ensure that your professors are properly recording your attendance. Your professors must note you as 'present' on their attendance roster.

If you do not receive your financial aid disbursement check within three (3) weeks of its disbursement, you should come into the office and apply a stop payment.  Please keep your address and phone number on file current.  All changes can be made at the OASIS, N217.  Financial Aid checks that are re-issued by the University's Central Student Financial Aid Office take 8-10 weeks to be re-issued.  This is not a Hunter College process, but a CUNY process.  In order to avoid this issue, consider using direct deposit.  It's SAFE, FREE and FAST and your funds are available the same day as the check date in your bank account.   Click here for more information.
