Intro To Digital Photography - The Decisive Moment

Tuesday, June 1st: 6-7PM via Zoom
I will host a presentation that will cover the basics of each class / show some past student work Will give some background on myself as an Admissions Counselor + working artist
Will answer any questions for Parents & students

Course Description
This course will introduce students to the beginner functions of digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and digital cameras through a variety of class demos and presentations, as well as some engaging creative assignments. You’ll learn the basics on how to control your camera to create that perfect, visual image, with a focus on composition and lighting. This course will cover camera shooting techniques, image editing software, and the work of other contemporary photographers to help you learn and produce your own portfolio of exciting photographs. Whether your style is portraiture, landscape, or simply for the sake of posting to Instagram, participating in this course will give students the confidence using a digital camera and will be a great foundation for anyone who chooses photography as a hobby, college major or, ultimately, a career.

Advanced Photography - Preparing Your Portfolio

Course Description
This course is designed for students and aspiring photographers who are interested in honing their craft and developing a well-curated portfolio for college admissions. Advanced Photography will provide students with the knowledge and technical skill set relevant to contemporary practices of digital and analog photography, while focusing on a course long photographic project. This class will explore the visual medium through a variety of methods, including lighting techniques, advanced Photoshop editing demos, and a series of presentations exposing students to the work of many historic and contemporary art photographers. Through multiple class discussions and critique sessions, students will not only learn how to present their photographs and speak conceptually about their work, but will also gain valuable insight on how to prepare a successful portfolio when applying to college.
