The Legal Assistant Certificate program is designed for both beginning and experienced assistants who would like to improve their skills, and prepares students for employment opportunities as Legal Assistants in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, banks, legal aid societies, and federal and state courts.

Legal assistants support lawyers at law firms and private practices in various ways including doing research, creating and maintaining legal files, and drafting requested documents. This certificate consists of 6 required courses and 3 electives. Tuition for the Legal Assistant Certificate is $3,800 plus a one-time $35 registration fee, or you can register for each course individually plus the registration fee per semester. Payment plan options are available for students who register in person. All required courses must be completed within two years. This certificate presumes a basic knowledge of word processing and a typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute. Basic word processing and typing skills will not be covered in this program.
