Hunter College Presents Talking Movies
If you love movies but hate standing in line, welcome to Talking Movies with Jeffrey Lyons and Roberta Burrows. You're not only guaranteed a seat, but will be among the FIRST to see Hollywood, Independent, Foreign Films and Documentaries- before they open.
TIMEOUT, NY calls the film series “Witty and Intelligent!”
The series meets in the Fall and Spring and is co-hosted by the nationally-known film and theater critic Jeffrey Lyons and film executive Roberta Burrows.
At Talking Movies you'll discover future actors, directors and producers as well as meet such celebrated filmmakers as Alan Alda, Javier Bardem, Benjamin Bratt, Ed Burns, Ethan Hawke, Marcia Gae Harden, Hal Holbrook, James McAvoy, Stanley Tucci and Franco Zeffirelli.
At your private screenings, you'll see films like City Island, La Mission, The Lives of Pippa Lee, and The Last Station. We particularly like independent films that are character driven and tell a story.
The Q&A following the screening is your time to ask producers and directors about filmmaking and ask actors about their creative process.
