EAS Educating All Students (Test 201)

Course Description:
The EAS exam is taken by all teacher candidates in New York State. The EAS consists of 45 selected response questions and 3 constructed responses. This reading-intensive exam is largely composed of teaching scenarios and questions that require a teacher to consider his/her professional and pedagogical responsibilities in a given situation. This 3-hour workshop provides specific information about the content of the EAS test as well as exam-specific strategies for answering the multiple-choice questions and the three constructed responses. This workshop provides independent as well as guided practice for all five test subareas. A study guide is provided to registrants.

CST Multi-Subject for Early Childhood: English Language Arts (Test 211)

Course Description:
This exam is taken by teachers who are certifying for the early childhood grades (Birth-2nd). Part 1 of the Multi-Subject exam consists of 40 selected response questions and one constructed response. The test covers a wide range of topics pertaining to English language arts including foundational reading skills, pedagogical approaches to literacy instruction and literacy assessment. This 2-hour workshop provides specific information about the content of Part One of the Multi-Subject including definitions of key terms and concepts and targeted practice related to the multiple choice. In addition, the workshop will provide comprehensive strategies for addressing the constructed response. This workshop provides independent as well as guided practice for all four test subareas. A study guide is provided to registrants.

Course Description:
This exam is taken by teachers who are certifying for the early childhood grades (Birth-2nd). Part 1 of the Multi-Subject exam consists of 40 selected response questions and one constructed response. This exam is taken by teachers who are certifying for the childhood grades (1st-6th). Part 2 of the Multi-Subject exam consists of 40 selected response questions and one constructed response. The test covers a wide range of topics pertaining to computation and mathematical problem-solving. Topics include algebra, geometry, ratios, conversions, linear equations and teaching mathematics in the early childhood classroom. This 2-hour workshop provides specific information about the content of Part Two of the Multi-Subject including application of key formulae and procedures. This workshop provides targeted practice related to the multiple choice. In addition, the workshop will provide strategies for addressing the constructed response. This workshop provides independent as well as guided practice for all five test subareas. A study guide is provided to registrants.

CST Multi-Subjects: Arts and Science (Test 245)

Course Description:
This exam is taken by all general education teachers and special education teachers who are certifying for grades Birth-6th as well as special education teachers who are certifying for middle and secondary levels. The Arts and Sciences exam is Part 3 of the Multi-Subject exam and the same exam is taken at all levels. The exam consists of 40 selected response questions. The majority of the test covers a wide range of topics related to science and social studies. Questions also cover fine art, music, health, physical fitness and consumer science. This 2-hour workshop is designed to provide targeted practice that will prepare candidates for the highly varied content that is covered on this exam. This workshop provides independent as well as guided practice for all three test subareas. A study guide is provided to registrants.

CST Students with Disabilities (Test 060)

Course Description:
This exam is taken by all teachers who are certifying to teach special education (Birth- 12th). The CST for Students with Disabilities consists of 90 selected response questions and a constructed response. The test covers a wide range of topics including planning for, assessing, and implementing appropriate pedagogical practices related to academics, social skills, functional living skills and behavior management for students with a wide range of disabilities. This 3-hour workshop provides specific information about the content of the test and includes extensive targeted practice related to the multiple choice. In addition, the workshop will provide strategies for addressing the constructed response. This workshop provides independent as well as guided practice for all seven test subareas. A study guide is provided to registrants.
