Continuing Education at Hunter College is pleased to announce that eligible veterans may use their Post- 9/11 GI Bill benefits* towards our Certificate Program offerings. The Certificate Programs listed below have been approved for veterans and other eligible beneficiaries.
*Due to the part-time nature of Continuing Education courses, in most instances the benefits will cover the tuition but not the living allowance. Veterans must be enrolled in 10 clock hours/week to be eligible for the living allowance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
Veterans who are interested in applying for one of these certificate programs should call or visit our office to learn more about using your GI Bill benefits and to begin your registration.
Office: 695 Park Avenue, Room E1022, New York, NY 10065
Note: You must call or visit our office if you intend to use your GI Bill benefits so that we can complete and submit the required paperwork for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
In order to use your GI Bill benefits, you will need to provide a copy of your educational benefits letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of your registration. Once we have your letter, our office will complete the VA Enrollment Certification and submit it to the Department of Veterans Affairs. For more information, please review the Post 9/11 GI Bill handout.
If you have not applied for your benefits, please download this form and submit it to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Project for Return and Opportunity for Veterans Education (PROVE)
Continuing Education at Hunter College has partnered with PROVE at Hunter College School of Social Work.
PROVE, Project for Return and Opportunity in Veterans Education, was founded to serve student veterans by assisting their transition from military service to college life and beyond. PROVE’s goal is to help improve retention and graduation rates among student veterans by working with and utilizing the special skills and talents of student veterans. Hunter College has been a PROVE site since 2008. The PROVE team aims to help meet the needs of student veterans ranging from navigating the world of GI benefits to providing a cohesive, safe and friendly environment for student veterans to thrive as they transition to this new stage of life. At Hunter College, the PROVE team works out of the Student Veteran Resource Center in C-118 North Building. The SVRC is open to all veterans, reservists, and active duty service members regardless of discharge status.
