for French, Italian & Spanish

About the Test (French & Spanish):
The test is approximately one hour long. It consists of numerous short answer questions on a computer in addition to a writing sample (please bring paper and pen). The exam is not given by appointment. You are welcome to walk in within the 2 hour time frame, but allow yourself enough time to finish before the time at which the exam ends. The exam is administered on a first-come first-serve basis. If all the computer stations are in use when you arrive, please be prepared to wait.
Italian Placement Examination:
Please e-mail Professor Alicia Ramos at email@example.com to make arrangements to take the Placement Exam in Italian. The Italian Placement Exam will take place during the same scheduled dates and times listed above.
All examinations are held in the Chanin Language Center (209 Hunter West).
Who should take the test?
You are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity if you need to fulfill the language requirements and if any of the following considerations apply to you:
- have one of these languages in high school.
- some time has passed since your last foreign language course.
- you have some knowledge of the language but never studied it formally.
- you have had additional exposure to the language through family, school, travel or work connections.
Bring a Hunter College ID card to show as you enter. Also have your EPLY ID# on hand.
(Remember to bring a pen for the writing sample.)
Results are usually posted within two days of the test on the Department of Romance Languages Bulletin Board, opposite Room 1343 Hunter West. Please DO NOT call the Chanin Language Center for your results.
