Undergraduate Study at Hunter College
Hunter Chemistry's Major II option 2 (Biochemistry) is now accredited by American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). Our Biochemistry program is the only accredited program in CUNY, and only one of two in New York City.

There are two federally funded programs that provide both financial and professional development support to prepare undergraduate students for entry into PhD programs.
- MARC Program website: The Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program.
- RISE Program website: The Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program, previously known as MBRS. The RISE program also supports graduate students pursuing Ph.D. degrees.
Quantitative Biology (QuBi) concentration in Chemistry This interdisciplinary major equips students with skills and knowledge in bioinformatics as well as in biochemistry.
