Undergraduate Study at Hunter College


Hunter Chemistry's Major I is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Hunter Chemistry's Major II Option 2 (Biochemistry) is now accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). Our Biochemistry program is the only ASBMB accredited program in CUNY.

Programs for Undergraduates That You May Be Interested In:

Quantitative Biology (QuBi) concentration in Chemistry This interdisciplinary major equips students with skills and knowledge in bioinformatics as well as in biochemistry.

There are two federally funded programs that provide both financial and professional development support to prepare undergraduate students for entry into PhD programs. 

  • MARC Program website: The Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program.
  • RISE Program website: The Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program, previously known as MBRS. The RISE program also supports graduate students pursuing Ph.D. degrees.
