Virginia is pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at City College of CUNY. She is currently investigating the extent to which mitigating factors (peer/family support, school/workplace non-discrimination policies) hinder or support the coming out process in gay, lesbian, and bisexual adolescents. Further research interests include both perceived locus of control in emerging adults and risk taking behavior in adolescents as each relates to the proliferation of HIV. She is a therapist on the Young Men's Health Project.
