Erica is a graduate student working on her Ph.D. in Social-Personality Psychology at the Graduate Center of CUNY. She began working at CHEST in June 2008. Before coming to CHEST, as an undergraduate student at Binghamton University, she completed a senior honors thesis which looked at parents' reactions to their lesbian or bisexual daughter’s coming out, earning her “Distinguished Independent Work in Psychology” in addition to her degree.
Her research interests are: sexual/gender identity change and development over time, social forces influencing parents’ level of acceptance of their LGBTQ child, non-labelers and pomosexuality, gender nonconformity, HIV/AIDS prevention, and open/nonmonogamous relationships within and outside of the queer community. She pulls most of her thinking from queer and critical theory.
