Dr. Christian Grov is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences at Brooklyn College (CUNY). He joined CHEST in 2003 while finishing his doctorate at the Graduate Center. Dr. Grov has worked with CHEST in a variety of capacities including Director of Recruitment (2004-2007), and Project Director of the Club Drugs and Health Project (2007-2008).
In addition to his work with CHEST, Dr. Grov completed one year as a postdoctoral fellow in the Behavioral Science Training in Drug Abuse Research program at the National Development and Research Institutes (NDRI) (Funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse). He has also served as an adjunct professor in the department of sociology at John Jay College, and has had the alter ego of Mrs. Maggie Num on CHEST’s team of DIVAS.
Dr. Grov's research centers on the sexual health of gay and bisexual men. In this capacity, his work has explored drug use and the role of the Internet in revolutionizing the sexual networks of gay and bisexual men. His studies have been presented at numerous conferences and published in a variety of academic journals. Dr. Grov also serves on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Sexual Health and Archives of Sexual Behavior.
