SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
The Senior Research Associate will work on the planning, implementation, and analysis of several federally-funded studies, with a focus on HIV prevention and treatment.  The ideal candidate will have experience with project management and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in a social science, health education, or public health field (ABD candidates will be considered);
  • Interest and/or experience in HIV prevention and/or sexual health promotion research, especially in urban settings;
  • Demonstration of success in writing papers for publication in scientific journals and presentation at national conferences;
  • Skills in conducting quantitative and/or qualitative analysis;
  • Experience in project management and/or staff supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

2. COORDINATOR OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The Coordinator of Education & Training will work on the development of educational programming both internally and for the larger community, coordination of the CHEST community advisory board (CAB), training and supervision of staff educators, and supervising a well-established internship program for undergraduate and master’s students. The ideal candidate would have experience with the development and implementation of community-based recruitment and outreach programs. 

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in a social science, health education, or public health field (ABD candidates will be considered);

3. RECRUITER
Interested in research but tired of working long hours in a lab? This is an opportunity to be involved in active field recruitment. Approach and recruit New Yorkers to participate in a variety of biopsychosocial research studies involving the LGBT community.
Be part of an academic environment; you will have the opportunity to partake in trainings and in-services, as well as foster working relationships with professionals in the fields of mental health, public health, psychology, and social work.
Recruiting for CHEST is an excellent first step if you are considering a career in the social sciences. Our past recruiters have gone on to accredited graduate and doctoral programs and begun successful careers in both clinical and research in the areas of psychology, public health, sociology, and anthropology. Requirements:

  • Only serious applicants who can fulfill a minimum 6 month requirement with at least 1 shift a week should apply.
  • Must be outgoing and comfortable with speaking to people about sensitive personal subjects in bars, clubs, and other night time venues.
  • Must have availability for alternative hours (late nights and weekends).

CHEST is always looking for enthusiastic individuals willing to volunteer their time in the capacity as an intern or volunteer.
