Annual Hahn / Earle Lecturers; Student Prizes/Awards & More

Annual Events

Adelaide E. Hahn Memorial Lecture: Every fall, we invite a prominent Classicist or Archaeologist to speak at our Adelaide E. Hahn Memorial Lecture. Established in 2006, this lecture is aimed at a broader, but no less enthusiastic audience than the Earle Lecture held later in the academic year. We invite our classes to join faculty, students, and friends from the entire metropolitan area to hear and honor our speaker.
See Hahn Lecturers.

Josephine Earle Memorial Lecture: Every spring, we invite a prominent Classicist or Archaeologist to speak at our Josephine Earle Memorial Lecture. A celebrated event dating back to 1938, the Earle Lecture attracts faculty, students, and friends from the entire metropolitan area to hear and honor our speaker.

Student Prizes and Awards

Given to our outstanding students in Classics and Archaeology on the occasion of the Earle Lecture (see Events above). These awards/prizes are made possible by the generous contributions of alumnae/i of the Classics Division.
See Award Recipients.

Archaeology Club

The club sponsors lectures and field trips to museums outside of New York City. In the past, the club has traveled to Philadelphia, Boston, Princeton, and Newark to visit the archaeological collections in the museums of these cities.

Facilities

Faculty offices are located primarily on the 14th floor of the West Building, and most Classics courses are taught in the same building.
