Graduation Eligibility and Policies

Graduation Participation Eligibility

huntergrad5You are eligible to participate in the Spring 2012 Commencement Ceremony if you have fulfilled all degree requirements prior to the date of Spring Commencement. Remember, Spring 2012 graduation candidates must complete their degree audit with the Registrar's Office by the date listed on the academic calendar to have their graduation requirements confirmed and to have their name appear in the printed program.

****Exceptions will be made for those students who have 6 or fewer credits to complete and who plan to complete these during the Summer 2012 sessions. (If you will be completing 6 or fewer credits in the Summer 2012 sessions, please be sure to indicate that you will be a September 2012 graduate on the Grad RSVP form and submit your RSVP by 5 PM on April 19, 2011)

  • Magna Cum Laude: Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.750 to 3.899
  • Cum Laude: Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.500 to 3.749

Criteria: 4.0 GPA and all credits completed at Hunter College.
NOTE: College credits completed in high school through AP, College Now, or similar programs do not affect eligibility for Valedictorian, even if those credits were earned at institutions other than Hunter College.

Salutatorian(s)

  Either:

  •  3.900-3.999 GPA and all credits completed at Hunter College; or
  • Transfer students with 4.0 GPA and 60 or more credits completed at Hunter College
