Why did you choose Hunter College?
Throughout my college search, I've searched for colleges with great programs in the health professions, especially nursing. Hunter College is located in the city, where I hope to live one day. It has a great nursing program and diversity, which is a plus. The campus is beautiful and it's a great college intellectually and also very affordable. It has been my dream school and top choice for quite some time.
What do you hope to gain from your time at Hunter? What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to meeting new people that are at the same level as me intellectually and personality wise. I want to accomplish my goal and dream of getting a degree in something I love doing. Also, I hope to gain a lot of knowledge to help me start a new phase of my life as a professional, which is what I have always wanted.
What are you interested in studying at Hunter College?
My grandma has been battling an illness and she was my motivation to want apply for nursing as my major. I was always by her side when she was in and out of the hospital, which built up my passion for helping others. And what better way than becoming a nurse?
What are your interests and extracurricular activities?
I play sports such as volleyball, track, and a little bit of soccer, and I am also very passionate about swimming. I was part of the National and Language Honor Societies. Besides balancing school and sports, for ten years I have been very active in church where I am the leader of the Spanish Youth Group. I went from being part of the children's choir, to an altar server, to the leader of the altar servers to, most recently, leading the youth group. It has been a great journey and has made me the person I am today.
