Hunter a National Leader in Number of Study-Abroad Students

Hunter is a leader in the nation's efforts to ensure that American students have the opportunity to study abroad, according to data released this week by Open Doors, an information-gathering institution that tracks the number of international exchange students.

In 2009/2010, Open Doors reports, the number of Hunter students enrolled in study-abroad programs was one of the highest in the United States. Among master's-granting colleges, Hunter ranked 37th in the nation, with 397 Hunter students studying abroad for credit that year.

Open Doors, supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational Affairs, is an information resource on U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit at their home colleges or universities and international students and scholars studying or teaching in the U.S.
