Hunter Alumna Filmmaker Profiled in Newsweek Article

Hunter alumna Anne Catherine Hundhausen (MFA/IMA '08) is featured in a Newsweek article about her documentary "Single Choice: Many Lives," which explores single motherhood via donor insemination from numerous perspectives around the U.S.

The article, "What 'The Back-Up Plan' Gets Wrong About Single Mothers," contrasts Hundhausen's in-depth look at the realities and complexities of single motherhood with contemporary Hollywood romantic comedies' take on the same subject. Current and upcoming examples include "The Back-up Plan," with Jennifer Lopez, and "The Switch," starring Jennifer Aniston.

Of her Hunter experience, Hundhausen, 38, says: "The Integrated Media Arts Program at Hunter helped facilitate my growth as a media maker. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to develop as an artist while earning my MFA."

On May 3rd, there was a screening of Hundhausen's film at Hunter as part of the Reel Dialogue series of documentaries presented by the College's Department of Film and Media Studies and the MFA/IMA program, which showcases the work of Hunter students and faculty.
