Hunter Honors Its 2017 HEO Award Winners

On February 23, President Raab led a joyous, heartfelt celebration of this year’s HEO Award recipients:

  • David Gray, Director of Engineering, Office of Facilities, Management & Planning
  • Christine Sampson,  Enrollment Registrar Coordinator, Office of the Registrar
  • Mirela Settenhofer, Assistant to the Chair, Department of Chemistry
  • Bettye Steinberg, Executive Assistant to the Dean of Administration, School of Education

and the recipients of two special awards:

  • Patricia Coleman, Receptionist, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Award for Excellence in Student Service
  • Ilene Drapkin, Director of Student Retention, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Advising.

Presented annually, the HEO Awards recognize Higher Education Officers for exemplary records of service. Among close colleagues and others in the Hunter community, these individuals are known for their dedication, expertise, and singular contributions to campus programs and services.

The prizewinners’ coworkers and families were in full, vocal attendance as President Raab cited each honoree’s impressive achievements. As always, these tributes abounded with amusing anecdotes and cheerful allusions to unique personalities and interests. A wonderful time was had by all.
