Acquiring Non-degree Status
The requirements to acquire non-degree status can be found at the website of the Hunter College Graduate Admissions Office.
In addition to obtaining non-degree status, departmental permission is required of all students wishing to take pre-requisite coursework.
- Permission is granted, via transcript review, during Open Advisement Sessions 3-4 weeks prior to the start of each semester. During these sessions, students' qualifications for taking the pre-requisite courses are discussed with faculty.
- Only students with an overall GPA of at least 3.3 (that's three point three) will be considered for permission.
- Students previously taking COMSC courses and earning less than B in any class will not be given permission to take other COMSC pre-requisite courses.
Hunter College seniors may take one pre-requisite course during their final semester prior to graduation if their overall GPA is at least 3.5. Departmental permission is still required of Hunter College seniors.
