Artificial Intelligence (AI) is ever present in our lives and will continue to have an even larger role in society, but we must not forget that machines are programmed by humans. Going forward, what ethical issues and rules must be further defined, as these machines act in the world? How do we avoid perpetuating gender, race, and age bias through AI, and how do we ensure that machines do not cross the ethical boundaries of our society? Susan L. Epstein, professor of computer science at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, CUNY, moderates a panel featuring Francesca Rossi, AI ethics global leader for IBM, and others.
