His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s Visit to Hunter College


Hunter College is honored to host a return visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on October 19, 2012. His Holiness will participate in two events during his visit.

Session 1: Academic Program and Panel Discussion
"Finding Common Ground: Ethics in China"
1:30 - 3:30 pm
Kaye Playhouse, Hunter College
(Enter at at 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues)

Check-in begins at 12 Noon
Doors closed at 1:30 pm (no one will be admitted after doors close)

His Holiness will address scholars, artists, professionals, members of the Chinese community and others interested in China. His Holiness wishes to create, through events such as this one, opportunities for dialogue and mutual understanding among members of the Tibetan and Chinese communities around the world. He will address the topic of "Finding Common Ground: Ethics in China" during this talk and panel discussion.

Tickets will not be distributed for this session.

Session 2: Honorary Degree Ceremony

3:45 - 4:15 pm
Assembly Hall, Hunter College
(Enter at 69th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues)

Check in begins at 1:30 pm
Doors closed at 3:15 pm (no one will be admitted after doors close)

Jennifer J. Raab, president of Hunter College, will present His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

Registration is closed for this free event and tickets are no longer available.
Tickets were available on a first-come, first-served basis to Hunter College community. Tickets are non-transferable.

 

Due to security restrictions, guests can register for either session 1 or session 2, not both.
