Graduate Programs in Dance
The Hunter College Graduate Dance Program offers a broad three-pronged array of course work in choreography/performance, aesthetic and cultural studies, dance science and pedagogy. These graduate degree plans are designed to offer a strongly integrated professional training environment in which mature, motivated and gifted performers, choreographers and teachers will work with world-class faculty toward well-articulated individual career goals.
- MFA/Dance focusing on performance, choreography, dance studies, dance sciences, and teaching artistry in the higher education environment.
- MA/Dance Education focusing on preparation for pre-K-12 teaching and NYS certification, including a significant component of dance-specific content shared with the MFA program.
- BA/MA/Dance Education, which builds on the undergraduate BA program in dance to a 5-year accelerated path to the graduate degree, focusing on preparation for pre-K-12 teaching and New York State certification.
