The spectacular Alwin Nikolais Centennial celebration concludes its U.S. performances in New York City at The Kaye Playhouse with a long look back at Nikolais’s career that features an unusual showcase of the multimedia master’s rarely seen works, many of which have not been staged in New York in over a quarter of a century. Sharing the Legacy 2011 participants are Muhlenberg College, Tulane University, Middle Tennessee State University, DeSales University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Southern Utah University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan College and Hunter College. Recent Hunter College graduate, Kristina Dobosz, landed a job with the renowned modern dance company, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, for their European tour of "Shadowland."

Weds 2/3 1pm in 543North. Student choreographers will hold auditions for works to be shown in the Spring Hunter College Dance Department concerts in the Kaye Playhouse in April or the South Studio Theater in May. Dancers must be enrolled in a HC Dance Technique course (Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, or W. African) to be eligible. Dancers are allowed to participate in up to 4 works (including Repertory works by Guest Artists), if they have completed a crew requirement.
