Program I
56-62 Credits
Students who already hold a BA/BS degree and enter without certification
in childhood education, grades 1-6 (or elementary education
PreK-6) would take an extended course of study that leads
to certification in both childhood education and childhood
special education.

Program II
37-43 Credits
Students who enter the special education program with initial/provisional
certification in childhood education grades 1-6 or elementary
education PreK-6 and who subsequently complete the master's
degree will meet the education requirements for NYS professional
teacher certification in both childhood education and childhood
special education.
