Program Description
This program, run at the prestigious L'Universite de Technologie de
Compiegne (UTC), provides 25 hours of French weekly at 4 different
levels. CUNY students will study along students from different
countries of Europe. They will be housed in 2-bed studios with
bathrooms and kitchens. The program will include visits to the chateau
de Compiegne (one of the largest classical chateaux in France) as well
as to the chateaux de Pierrefonds and de Chantilly.
Compiegne (population of about 50,000) is nestled in a
beautiful forest, roughly 50 miles north of Paris, and about 50 minutes
away by express train. Due to its location, Compiegne provides a
perfect base for weekend trips to Paris as well as to Senlis, Amiens,
Beauvais, Reims and the whole region of Picardy.
Prerequisites
French
101 and 102 or French 103. Students who haven't taken any French at
CUNY need to take placement test administered by the Department of
Romance Languages at Hunter College.
