Students will directly experience teaching English as a foreign language by serving as a volunteer teacher in a Costa Rican English language teaching program and also visit K-12 Costa Rican public schools. Students will simultaneously engage in Spanish language learning at their proficiency level at the Universidad Latina.

Course to begin in June 2016 on campus and online, followed by travel and homestay in San Jose, Costa Rica July 1 to July 23, 2016. Students will receive 2 credits for EDESL 702 Special Topics in TESOL and 3 credits in Spanish. The specific language course will depend on the student's level in Spanish.
