This program, run at the prestigious L'Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), provides 25 hours of French language instruction weekly at several different levels. CUNY students will study along students from different countries of Europe. They will be housed in 2-bed studios with bathrooms and kitchens. The program will include visits to the Château de Compiègne (one of the largest classical castles in France) as well as to the châteaux de Pierrefonds and de Chantilly.
Compiegne (population of about 50,000) is nestled in a beautiful forest, roughly 50 miles north of Paris, and about 50 minutes away by express train. Due to its location, Compiegne provides a perfect base for weekend trips to Paris as well as to Senlis, Amiens, Beauvais, Reims and the whole region of Picardy.
French 101 and 102 or French 103. Students who haven't taken any French at CUNY need to take a placement test administered by the Department of Romance Languages at Hunter College. You should inquire with the department directly regarding the dates when the tests are administered.
