EHS Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), a unit within the Hunter College Office of Finance and Management, is to provide stewardship in the protection of human health, occupational safety and the safeguard of the environment in a manner that is consistent with regulatory mandates and the academic and research goals of the college. We strive to promote a cultural environment of shared responsibility within the college community that will effectively identify hazards and manage the risk of injury and disease. To aid in this effort, EHS offers a comprehensive program that incorporates chemical and laboratory safety, radiation safety and other occupational safety programs, as well as guidance in achieving adherence to regulatory compliance.
We are continually adding new EHS programs and services, some which are web-based, in an attempt to meet the ever changing needs of Hunter College's faculty and staff, research, academic and occupational programs.
