Regulated Waste Management

Hazardous Matterial Logo

The generation of regulated waste is inherent when performing work in a laboratory setting, and the management of such waste can be complex. Hunter College’s labs produce several waste streams (chemical, infectious or radiactive waste; empty bottles, electronic waste, etc.), each which must be managed and treated differently. The office of Environmental Health and Safety is here to help you understand and to assist in the management of your waste. Our goal is to help you dispose of laboratory waste in a way that is safe for employees, the community, and the environment, and to comply with waste management mandates.
